Phoenix

Eon Phoenix Mail is an email client that keeps working the way email already does — and adds end-to-end encryption that is built to survive quantum computers.

What it is

A desktop and mobile mail client for your existing mailbox. It speaks ordinary IMAP and SMTP, so it works with the address you already have, alongside whatever else you use. Nothing has to move.

What it adds is a choice, per message, about how private that message should be — from a plain email to one that can only be read once and then no longer exists anywhere.

Post-quantum, not eventually

Encrypted messages use ML-KEM and ML-DSA, the algorithms NIST standardised for a world with quantum computers in it. That matters now rather than later: mail captured today can be stored until the machine to break it exists. Phoenix encrypts against that, today.

Five ways to send

Every message goes out at one of five tiers. You pick it in the composer; the recipient sees which one it was.

• A Apax — single-release: readable once, then the key is gone
• G Dual-control — released only after a named approver consents
• C Confidential — online-only, never stored readable, and the sender can unsend it
• D Direct — always end-to-end encrypted, chat-style
• E Email — classic mail, with optional encryption

Two of those can be sharpened further:

• B self-erase — destroy after the first read
• X discrete — hide the subject, the threading and the tier hint

Where it runs

macOS (Intel and Apple Silicon), Windows, Linux and Android. The Android build runs without Google services, which is the point: it is the same client, not a cut-down one.

Where your keys live

On your own devices. The directory that publishes public keys is hosted in the EU and under EU jurisdiction, and it never sees a private key or a readable message.

It is a beta
